Botox for Excessive Sweating
When even the strongest anti-perspirants leave you all wet, it’s time to take control. Hyperhidrosis is a disorder that makes you sweat more than you need to and an affect your quality of life. It is estimated that 910,000 Canadians are affected by hyperhidrosis.
Botox® focal injections are an effective way to treat excessive sweating in the underarms. In one study of excessive underarm sweating, 95% of patients experienced an average reduction of 83% within one week of treatment. Results generally last approximately 6 months. Botox® is the only prescription medication approved for hyperhidrosis.
Our treatment fee for Botox® hyperhidrosis is $250 plus the cost of the product. Product cost is generally in the $800 range and is often covered by third-party insurance. - Avoid wearing anti-perspirant products for 2 days prior to your treatment.
- Shave hair prior to your appointment.
- Avoid exercise or hot beverages for 2 hours prior to your treatment.
- Refrain from exercise or strenuous activity for 24 hours after your treatment.
- You can continue to use over the counter anti-perspirants 12 hours after your treatment.
- You will begin to experience results within the first 7 days with full results at 14 days after your treatment.
- You may experience small bruising at the injection sites which will resolve themselves within several days.
- Results typically last approximately 6 months at which time re-treatment is recommended to maintain your results.
