Each client receives a complimentary consultation prior to Botox treatment. During your consultation, we can assess your needs and fully educate you about treatment and pricing for your particular concerns. We use Unit Pricing to determine the cost of your Botox procedure which allows you to pay only for what you need, rather than charging a flat rate for an area. Our price per unit is $10 with a minimum fee of $120. Because each client's needs are unique, the required number of units of Botox to achieve desired results will vary. To decrease the chance of bruising at the injection site, please avoid all NON-PRESCRIPTION blood thinning medications and supplements for 1 week prior to your Botox® appointment. Avoid taking Aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS) such as such as Ibuprofen, Motrin and Aleve. In addition, very high doses of some Vitamins and supplements can thin your blood and increase the chance of bruising. Please notify Dr. Bowdridge if you are taking Warfarin, Coumadin, Plavix, or any other blood thinners for a medical condition.
- Try to exercise your treated muscles for 1-2 hours following treatment (ex. Practice frowning, raising your eyebrows or squinting). This helps to work BOTOX COSMETIC® into your muscles. Although this is thought to help, it will not impact your treatment negatively if you forget to do this.
- Avoid taking Advil, Tylenol or Vitamin E for 24 hours to reduce the risk of bruising.
- Do not lie down for 4 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas (from your pillow) and to avoid the risk of having the area rubbed accidentally.
- Be assured that any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours. If you need to apply make-up within 4 hours after your treatment, only use a gentle touch to avoid rubbing the treated area.
- Results of your treatment may take 14 days to take full effect. Please wait until the 14 days has passed to assess if you are pleased with your result. At this time, we ask that you return for a follow up appointment.
- Because BOTOX COSMETIC® requires a special technique in order to customize the injections to your individual muscle structure, it is important that your muscle activity recovers, but that your skin is not creasing to the point from where you started before repeating treatment.
- BOTOX COSMETIC® is a temporary procedure and at first, you may find that your treatment results will last approximately 3-4 months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended by your doctor, the duration of each treatment may begin to last longer than 4 months.
- Our clinic will see you in 2 weeks for a follow up. Please ensure you book this appointment if this is your first treatment for the particular area or if you have any concerns.

When will I see results and how long will they last?
You'll begin to see results as soon as 24 hours after your treatment, and the lines may continue to fade for up to one week afterwards. The effects can last up to 4 months, sometimes longer.

What happens when the treatment stops working?
The effects of BOTOX COSMETIC® will gradually disappear until the treated area regains movement. For best results, continue treating the area every four months, or however often is suggested by Dr. Bowdridge.

Are there creams that are better than Botox Cosmetic?
No scientific evidence supports that creams work better than Botox Cosmetic. While creams work well on the surface of the skin to help with skin texture, BOTOX COSMETIC® works below the surface of the skin to relax the muscles that are the root cause where lines and wrinkles form.
